Baseball Recap: Brush Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Wray typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Brush proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Eagles. The victory was familiar territory for the Beetdiggers, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Brush let Landon Mesch and Edgar Ortiz run wild. Mesch went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Ortiz went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Ortiz has posted since back in March. Malachi Thiel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Brush kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Brush's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Wray, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.

Coming up, Brush will head out on the road to square off against Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Beetdiggers are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wray, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Limon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last four games the Badgers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
