Volleyball Recap: Arizona College Prep Comes Up Short

Arizona College Prep was the 3-1 winner over Desert Mountain when they last played one another on October 7th, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Arizona College Prep took Desert Mountain into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Arizona College Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zoe Anderson had 23 digs and four assists. With that strong performance, Anderson is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game. Brianna Chavez also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Mia Archibald had an outrageously good game for Desert Mountain as she had 23 digs. Those 23 digs gave Archibald a new career-high.

Arizona College Prep dropped their record down to 12-18-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Desert Mountain, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-22 record this season.

Arizona College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Desert Mountain, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Campo Verde on the 30th.
