Basketball Game Preview: Lathrop Malemutes vs. Ketchikan Kings

Lathrop and Ketchikan are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Lathrop Malemutes will head out on the road to challenge the Ketchikan Kings on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Lathrop is leaving town to face Ketchikan after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Lathrop might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Monroe Catholic an easy 43-21 victory. The Malemutes just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Ketchikan ended up a good deal behind Sitka on Saturday and lost 52-38. The loss was the Kings' first of the season.

Lathrop didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Ketchikan in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 45-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lathrop since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
