Volleyball Game Preview: Lick-Wilmerding Tigers vs. Marin Academy Wildcats

Lick-Wilmerding is 0-10 against Marin Academy since June of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Lick-Wilmerding didn't have quite enough to beat Urban and fell 3-2. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blues 25-17 in the first set.

Lick-Wilmerding started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 17-25, 25-13, 25-13, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Marin Academy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cubs. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 25, 2024, but that streak is no more.

While Marin Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Convent of the Sacred Heart scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

Lick-Wilmerding now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Marin Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-8.

Lick-Wilmerding might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Marin Academy in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
