Basketball Game Preview: Cicero Prep Academy Centurions vs. Hayden Lobos

The Cicero Prep Academy Centurions will head out on the road to take on the Hayden Lobos at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cicero Prep Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Cicero Prep Academy humbled Superior with a 47-12 victory. That looming 47-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Centurions yet this season.

Cicero Prep Academy relied on the efforts of Alyse Nap, who posted seven points and eight steals, and Chelsea Leggat, who earned 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Nap a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Weaver, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points.

Cicero Prep Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Hayden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 49-32 bruising from Valley Lutheran. The Lobos were down 39-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Cicero Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.2 points per game. As for Hayden, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Cicero Prep Academy strolled past Hayden in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 38-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cicero Prep Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
