Preview: Baldwin Braves vs. Perry Panthers
Baldwin has been on the road for seven straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Perry Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Baldwin can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Howard with a sharp 60-35 victory. Given Baldwin's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Howard is ranked 377th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Baldwin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Dennis led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds. Dennis is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tremarius Lawrence, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Perry didn't have too much trouble with Dooly County on the road on Tuesday as they won 54-37. That looming 54-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Perry yet this season.
Baldwin is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Perry, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Everything came up roses for Baldwin against Perry in their previous meeting on Friday as the squad secured a 70-37 victory. Will Baldwin repeat their success, or does Perry have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
