Basketball Recap: Mt. Zion Find Success

There's no place like home for Mt. Zion, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 55-54 photo finish over the Lithia Springs Lions on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Lions back in December of 2024, they had to take a 64-60 loss.

Mt. Zion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavier Buckner, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Buckner a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Payton Waters, who posted 11 points and six boards.

Mt. Zion's record now sits at 9-7. As for Lithia Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Mt. Zion has already played their next game (against Atlanta Classical Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lithia Springs has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Villa Rica.
