Baseball Recap: Miamisburg Takes a Loss

Miamisburg lost against Northmont on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings fell just short of the Thunderbolts by a score of 2-1.

Kaiden Trent was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

Miamisburg's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-13. As for Northmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11-1 record this season.

Miamisburg and Northmont could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Vikings will challenge St. Xavier at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (220 vs. 91). Meanwhile, Northmont (ranked 245th) will meet Tippecanoe (ranked 45th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
