Volleyball Recap: Timnath Falls to Platte Valley in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Timnath unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Platte Valley Broncos on Thursday. If the Cubs were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Broncos when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Platte Valley scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Kinley Kelly paced Timnath's offense, picking up 12 kills. Kelly got some help from Sage Raymond and her 31 assists. Raymond was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timnath will face off against Jefferson Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Platte Valley, they will take on Wiggins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
