Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sariah White and Aliah Martin Lead Union to Victory

Union entered their tilt with Altamont on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2015.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-11, 25-19.

Leading Union to victory were Aliah Martin and Sariah White. Martin had nine digs and three aces, while White had 15 assists and four aces. White has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 11 times she's played. Braidee Lamb also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Union was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. They are 8-3 when they serve at least ten aces.

Altamont's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lauren Thacker, who had 14 assists and one block, and Chezney Bywater, who had eight digs.

Union now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Altamont, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Union didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Carbon on the 30th. As for Altamont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Monticello on the 26th.
