Baseball Game Preview: Grafton Gators vs. Northbridge Rams

The Grafton Gators will head out to square off against the Northbridge Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Grafton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, Grafton earned a 6-3 victory over Shrewsbury.

C.J. Chagnon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Finn Gilmore was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Charlie Law, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Northbridge faced Weston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Rams came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-1. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

JP Bolduc was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Northbridge's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Grafton, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Grafton might still be hurting after the 14-7 defeat they got from Northbridge when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
