Softball Recap: Central Noble Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Central Noble had won three straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 14-4 to make it four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the North Miami Warriors a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Cougars have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Grace Swank made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kierra Bolen was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Vice, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for North Miami, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On North Miami's side, Erika Raber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Noble will face off against West Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Miami, they will square off against Pioneer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
