            Basketball Recap: Marietta Blue Devils vs. Hardaway Hawks        
        
		
        
        
            On Monday, the Marietta Blue Devils lost to the Hardaway Hawks on the road  by a   67-51 margin. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

 Despite the  loss, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Leah DeWitt  went 12 for 29  on her way to 33 points and eight  boards. DeWitt's afternoon made it 20 games in a row in which  she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mckenzie Everett, who  posted 12  points and six  rebounds.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hardaway to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Rhianna Boynton, who  dropped  a double-double on 17 points and 17  boards. Boynton has been hot, having  posted eight or more  rebounds the last seven times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Mikayla Johnson, who  dropped  a double-double on 17  points and 11  boards.
Marietta's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Hardaway, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record  this season.
 Marietta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  61-58  loss against Cherokee on the 22nd. Hardaway has also  already played their next game,  an  81-42  victory against Columbus on the 25th.
