Basketball Recap: Alameda Takes a Loss

Alameda lost against Conifer back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Alameda Pirates fell 42-35 to the Conifer Lobos. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Alameda lost, don't look at Claire To. Despite the final result, she posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Garcia, who put up five points.

This is the second loss in a row for Alameda and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Conifer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alameda will challenge Englewood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alameda's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Englewood's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Conifer, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Littleton at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
