Volleyball Recap: Lithonia Comes Up Short

Lithonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwest DeKalb Panthers. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-9.

Southwest DeKalb's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janai Townes, who had eight aces and four assists. That's the most aces Townes has posted over her last four matches. Another player making a difference was Jah'Tima Jackson, who had six aces.

Lithonia's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Southwest DeKalb, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11.

Lithonia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Stephenson on the 24th. As for Southwest DeKalb, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Redan on the 24th.
