Baseball Recap: Mohawk Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Mohawk dropped their record down to 12-3 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell 5-0 to the Upper Sandusky Rams. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Upper Sandusky, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. They haven't had any issues with Mohawk recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

For Upper Sandusky's part, Josh Heilman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Heilman has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Heilman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Francis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

While Mohawk had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
