Volleyball Recap: Plainview's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Plainview lost against West Holt back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pirates fell 2-0 to the Huskies.

Plainview was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22.

Kenzie Doerr paced Plainview's offense, picking up five kills. Doerr got some help from Mallory Mauer and her 12 assists.

West Holt can attribute much of their success to Monica Chavez, who had eight kills, seven digs, and one block. Chavez is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Plainview's loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for West Holt, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

Plainview has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Elgin/Pope John on the 27th. As for West Holt, they will welcome Elkhorn Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
