Softball Recap: Brewer Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brewer can now relate to. They fell 7-4 to the Edward Little Red Eddies on Saturday. The Witches were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Eddies earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Sara Young spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on 16 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jordin Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Jill Ford was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Brewer's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Edward Little, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Brewer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edward Little, they will challenge Bangor on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Red Eddies surely won't give up without a fight.
