Baseball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Lakeside duked it out with Lakeland on Friday. Lakeside fell just short of Lakeland by a score of 9-8. The Eagles have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Kyle Phillips made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lakeland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season.

Lakeside will be playing at home against Lewis & Clark at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakeland, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sandpoint at 4:00 p.m. on April 10.
