The Burkburnett Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Decatur Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burkburnett is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
Last Friday, Burkburnett earned an 8-3 victory over Castleberry.

Kennedy Smith was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Lydia Duff was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. EJ Dominguez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Burkburnett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Decatur was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 12-7 win over Springtown.
Like Burkburnett, Decatur also got a great game from a two-way player: Alexa Beeson. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Beeson was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Steele, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Madi Moreland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
Burkburnett's record is now 9-15. As for Decatur, their record now sits at 9-4.
Burkburnett suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Decatur in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can Burkburnett avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
