Brynlee Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyla Jobe, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Greeneville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 11-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, North Greene won against South Greene on Monday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against Cloudland, sneaking past 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since May 16, 2024.
Greeneville pushed their record up to 15-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for North Greene, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
Greeneville took their win against North Greene in their previous matchup on April 4th by a conclusive 23-10 score. Do the Greene Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
