Volleyball Recap: Clearwater Central Catholic Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Clearwater Central Catholic had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-10 to make it four. They lost 3-0 to the Tampa Prep Terrapins. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Tampa Prep, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0).

Tampa Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lucy Zielin led the charge by getting seven digs and two assists. That's the most assists Zielin has posted since back in August. Shelby Steppacher also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Clearwater Central Catholic and Tampa Prep should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Marauders (ranked 89th) will meet Keswick Christian (ranked 215th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tampa Prep will take on Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (25 vs. 203).
