Softball Recap: Clear Brook Victorious

The third road contest was the charm for Clear Brook, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos on Friday.

Clarissa Pina made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Pina wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ahiza Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Kiersten Sanders also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Clear Brook now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Cesar E. Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Clear Brook will be playing at home against South Houston at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they will head out on the road to challenge Clear Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
