Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. Liberty County Bulldogs

The Lincoln Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Liberty County Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Things were looking good for Lincoln after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Florida State University High School.

Mia Owens was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Eikeland, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Liberty County didn't have quite enough to beat Franklin County on Tuesday and fell 5-4.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Liberty County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lincoln suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Liberty County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
