Soccer Game Preview: Scott vs. Campbell County

The Scott Highlanders will venture away from home to take on the Campbell County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Campbell County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Scott, who comes in off a win.

Scott will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Union County on Thursday. The Highlanders put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 5-0 victory. Scott haven't had any issues with Union County recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Campbell County came up short against Karns on Thursday, falling 7-2. Campbell County were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-1.

Scott pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three games. As for Campbell County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5-1 record this season.

Everything went Scott's way against Campbell County when the teams last played back in March of 2023, as Scott made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
