Volleyball Recap: Lamar Beats Athens for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Lamar had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Athens Golden Eagles.

Libby Tulip paced Lamar's offense, picking up 17 kills. Tulip got some help from Rylee Schimelpfening and her 20 assists. Sophie Dearing controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 1-2.

Lamar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Fairhope on the 23rd. As for Athens, they will challenge Ardmore at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
