Football Recap: Spanish Fort Toros vs. Fairhope Pirates
Spanish Fort had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Fairhope Pirates 42-6 on the road. For the Toros, this counts as revenge for the 17-14 defeat the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2023.
Aaden Shamburger had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 58 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. He got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible86 yards. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Wilson, who rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Spanish Fort was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 428 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
