Basketball Game Preview: Conestoga Cougars vs. Plattsmouth Blue Devils

The Conestoga Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Plattsmouth Blue Devils at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Plattsmouth took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Conestoga, who comes in off a win.

Conestoga picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They wrapped up 2024 with a 58-42 victory over Raymond Central. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Plattsmouth suffered their biggest loss since February 8th on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 67-38 loss at the hands of Wayne. The contest marked Plattsmouth's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Conestoga will have to contain Traceson Skalberg as he made an impact in Plattsmouth's last game. He went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Logan Ksiazek was another key player, putting up nine points.

Plattsmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Conestoga, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Conestoga came out on top in a nail-biter against Plattsmouth when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 53-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Conestoga since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
