Baseball Recap: Bowsher Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Bowsher waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Start Spartans by a score of 5-2. This was a revenge game for the BlueRacers: when they faced off against the Spartans back in April, they had to take a 8-7 loss.

Sebastian Serrano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Roy McCrandall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bowsher's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Gavin Hodson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Bowsher's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Start, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-6.
