The Liberty Ranch Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Rosemont Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Liberty Ranch has seven straight victories, Rosemont has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Liberty Ranch made easy work of El Dorado and carried off a 13-1 win. Considering the Hawks have won eight matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Laura Quinn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Khali Barrantes and Xiana Juarez did most of the damage at the plate: Barrantes went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Juarez went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Juarez a new career-high. Carlie Perez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rosemont came up short against Union Mine on Tuesday, falling 9-3.
Gabriyanna Vegafria made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
Liberty Ranch's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Rosemont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16-1.
Rosemont's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Liberty Ranch hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. It's a different story for Rosemont, though, as they've only averaged .196. Will they be able to contain Liberty Ranch's hitters?
Liberty Ranch took their victory against Rosemont in their previous matchup on Monday by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
