Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Linden's 14th in Last 15 Outings

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Linden ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Calaveras Red Hawks 4-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 4-2 win back in April.

Katie Schallberger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Millee Holguin was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Linden is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Calaveras, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7-1.
