Basketball Game Preview: Malakoff Tigers vs. Grand Saline Indians

The Malakoff Tigers will head out to face off against the Grand Saline Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Malakoff will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Malakoff proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 28) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Mineola 37-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since January 26, 2024.

Meanwhile, Grand Saline suffered their closest defeat since January 9, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Edgewood by a score of 72-70.

Grand Saline's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 16-9. As for Malakoff, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Malakoff came up short against Grand Saline in their previous meeting back in January, falling 55-47. Can Malakoff avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
