Fuqua has gone a perfect 7-0 against Temple Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Falcons will square off against the Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. Fuqua is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Southampton Academy hit Fuqua with a seven-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Kaylie Ledger was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Ledger, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Temple Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Ridgeview Christian on Monday. Temple Christian was the clear victor by a 15-3 margin over Ridgeview Christian. The result was nothing new for Temple Christian, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Reagan Hensley made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Temple Christian let Addison Camden and Sadie Forster run wild. Camden got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI, while Forster went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Cooper, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Temple Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Fuqua, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Both Fuqua and Temple Christian just can't seem to miss. The Falcons have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Temple Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Fuqua's way against Temple Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Fuqua made off with a 14-1 win. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
