Soccer Recap: Geneseo Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dixon last Thursday, Geneseo came back down to earth. The Maple Leafs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Moline United Panthers on Tuesday. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Geneseo couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Ava DeSplinter, who's now up to five this season.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2. As for East Moline United, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Geneseo didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-1 victory against Galesburg on the 8th. As for East Moline United, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Peoria Notre Dame on the 3rd.
