The Parkwood Wolf Pack came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Forest Hills with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. That's another feather in the cap for Parkwood, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cameron McKinney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. Gavin Hancock was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Winnegan, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Samuel Huntley, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Forest Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkwood only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Parkwood pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Forest Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
Parkwood will head out on the road to square off against the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forest Hills, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Piedmont knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully the Yellow Jackets like a good challenge.
