Baseball Recap: Saxony Lutheran Gets the Win

The third road match was the charm for Saxony Lutheran, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They came out on top against the Crystal City Hornets by a score of 6-2 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.

Zach Roth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Roth was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Korby Engert was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was James Hope, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Saxony Lutheran now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Crystal City, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Brentwood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Crystal City's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
