Basketball Recap: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Patagonia Lobos
In what's become a running theme this season, the Desert Christian Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 80-31 victory over Patagonia on the road. With Desert Christian ahead 48-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Desert Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyson Dobbins, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine assists. Dobbins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Brown, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds.
Leo Nunez and Kannon Shore certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Nunez scored ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks, while Shore scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Desert Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Patagonia, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-15.
Desert Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Baboquivari is on a five-game streak of home wins, the Eagles a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Patagonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
