Baseball Recap: Saratoga Springs Takes a Loss

Saratoga Springs managed to slip by Shenendehowa the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Streaks lost 10-1 to the Plainsmen on Wednesday. The game marked the Blue Streaks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Saratoga Springs got a good showing from Peyton Keegan, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Keegan also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Blue Streaks are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-5 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Saratoga Springs and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Shenendehowa, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saratoga Springs is set to square off against their familiar foe Shaker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Shenendehowa will take on rival Guilderland at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Plainsmen's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Flying Dutchmen have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
