Basketball Recap: Empire Comes Up Short

Empire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Desert View Jaguars, falling 48-24. The Ravens were probably out for revenge after losing 36-30 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Solana Celaya had a dynamite game for Desert View, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave Celaya a new career-high in rebounds.

Empire's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Desert View, they moved to 4-17 with that win, which also ended their 16-game losing streak.

Empire has already played their next matchup, a 37-27 victory against Palo Verde on the 29th. As for Desert View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-26 defeat against Flowing Wells on the 30th.
