Soccer Game Preview: Waltham vs. Wayland

Waltham is 0-9-1 against Wayland since September of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Hawks will host the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Waltham's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Waltham took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Lincoln-Sudbury, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks' defense stepped up to hand the Warriors a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Waltham were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Wayland fell victim to Concord-Carlisle and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 1-0. Wayland have struggled against Concord-Carlisle recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Waltham's win bumped their record up to 6-4-6. As for Wayland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-3.
