Baseball Recap: Magnolia Comes Up Short

Trinity Christian hit Magnolia with a five-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Eagles took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Blue Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

Finn Loy was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Loy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.

Loy wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Conner Carpenter, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Magnolia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Trinity Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.
