Softball Recap: Julian Takes a Loss

Julian lost against Mountain Empire back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles fell 19-16 to the Redhawks.

Lily Betts stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Lara Arabian was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-7.

Julian has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Mountain Empire, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Julian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Warner at 3:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Mountain Empire, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against High Tech SD at 3:30 p.m.
