Basketball Recap: Fallsburg Drops Highest Score of Season Against Eldred

Fallsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Eldred Yellowjackets, falling 51-31. One positive for the Comets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Eldred's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Gonzalez has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Furler, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten assists.

Fallsburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Eldred, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fallsburg will head out to face off against Rondout Valley at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Eldred, they will venture away from home to square off against O'Neill at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
