Salesian won the last time they faced La Salle and J'Anthony Cobb did his part to make sure it happened again. The Mustangs blew past the Lancers 35-14 on Friday for which the team can thank Cobb, who rushed for 218 yards and four scores on only ten carries, and also picked up 85 receiving yards. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 60 yards.
When it comes to explaining why La Salle lost, don't look at Alexandros Darlas. Despite the final result, he rushed for 203 yards and one TD. Darlas is becoming a predictor of the Lancers' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't).
The victory made it two in a row for Salesian and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 30.5 points. As for La Salle, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Looking ahead, Salesian will head out to take on Ventura at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. La Salle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
