Softball Game Preview: Crosby Cougars vs. Splendora Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Crosby Cougars challenge Splendora Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crosby hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, Crosby needed a bit of extra time to put away Porter. They had just enough and edged out the Spartans 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won nine in a row.

Tori Dahnke spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

Meanwhile, Splendora beat BVCHEA HomeSchool 7-4 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Crosby's record now sits at 7-4. As for Splendora, their record is now 6-7.

Crosby took their victory against Splendora in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 14-0. Will Crosby repeat their success, or does Splendora have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
