Basketball Game Preview: Meyersdale Red Raiders vs. Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers

Meyersdale is 0-10 against Berlin Brothersvalley since January of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Meyersdale Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Meyersdale ended up a good deal behind Northern Garrett and lost 73-56. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 700th in Pennsylvania, while the Huskies are ranked 242nd in Maryland).

Meanwhile, Berlin Brothersvalley came up short against United on Monday and fell 65-58. While the Mountaineers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 28-17 in the first quarter.

Meyersdale will need focus on slowing down Carson Janidlo, one of several Berlin Brothersvalley players who made an impact when they last played. He went 10 of 19 en route to 21 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of McKelvey Foor, who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds.

Meyersdale's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Meyersdale took a serious blow against Berlin Brothersvalley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 70-37. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Meyersdale was down 47-24.
