Baseball Recap: De La Salle Gets the Win

While De La Salle's victory against Foothill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Falcons 5-4. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

De La Salle got a great performance from Roman Bartosh as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Bartosh has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Sam Lakey was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Zach Tchejeyan also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-2. As for Foothill, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

De La Salle has already played their next game, a 7-1 win against Elk Grove on the 29th. As for Foothill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against California on the 2nd.
