Basketball Recap: Metuchen Bulldogs vs. Dunellen Destroyers
The Metuchen Bulldogs stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Dunellen at home to the tune of 53-11. Winning may never get old, but Metuchen sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Despite the defeat, Dunellen saw an underclassman step up: Brielle Villanueva-Jadotte scored a point along with eight rebounds and three steals. Villanueva-Jadotte has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played.
Metuchen's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. As for Dunellen, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.
Metuchen will head out on the road to face off against the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dunellen, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. East Brunswick Vo-Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
