Football Recap: Denver North Takes a Loss

If Denver North was riding high fresh off their 50-0 takedown of Adams City last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings were outmatched by the Grand Junction Tigers and fell 35-7. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Valentino Lucero threw for 116 yards and one touchdown. Jacob Galvadon was his top target, picking up 82 receiving yards and one score.

Andrew Neese was nothing short of spectacular for Grand Junction: he threw for 206 yards and four TDs on only 16 passes. The Tigers also got a significant boost from Matthais Martinez-Santana, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

Denver North now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Grand Junction, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Denver North didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-7 defeat against Northglenn on the 18th. As for Grand Junction, they have also already played their next match, a 10-7 loss against Fruita Monument on the 19th.
