Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Drops Season-High Score on Coleman

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvary Baptist Academy). They enjoyed a cozy 68-54 win over the Coleman Comets on Monday. The Kings didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Calvary Baptist Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gauge Roy led the charge by on his way to 28 points. The dominant performance also gave Roy a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Another player making a difference was Charlie VanBeek, who to rack up 18 points and eight rebounds.

Calvary Baptist Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Glazier, who en route to 19 points and three steals. That was a full 35.2% of Coleman's points, marking the fourth time in a row Glazier has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared DeVrieze, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.

Calvary Baptist Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Coleman, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Looking ahead, Calvary Baptist Academy will take on Nouvel Catholic Central in a tournament on Wednesday. Coleman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
